History:
The network exists to develop an
independent network in the Chicago area, led by CHW’s with a
communications infrastructure linked to stakeholders, potential
allies and agencies that employ CHWs, and the capacity to advocate
for accessible standardized training and formalized credentialing,
program evaluation and sustainable programs. |

Mission:
Empower promoters and the communities they serve
through: Group education, provision of information and
resources, health promotion and disease prevention to
diverse communities, regardless of race, religion,
gender, or sexual orientation, through various fields of
services and supports, so that united we can affect
positive change, growth, and understanding in our
communities. |

Value:
We value comprehensive health care services that reflect
love, self-respect, equality, and cultural
sensitivity. With a vocation to serve others; our work
is reliable, patient, expressive and knowledgeable of
community health issues. Finally, we value the
communities that we serve,
so that in return they will be as strong as the people
who serve them.

Vision:
The Chicago health workers/promoters local network envisions a
society in which all of it’s residents, regardless of their
socioeconomic status, have equal and sufficient access to
health care and the resources/education handed to live healthy
lives. |
